I have learned from many martial arts instructors in my life. My own incompetence has prevented me from ever getting to be very good in martial arts, but I like to think of myself as someone who can act as a conduit to help other people the martial art they are looking for.
Undertaking a single martial art is a personal journey one can perform. It is noble and nothing to scoff at for someone to study only a single martial art and perfect it.
Undertaking many martial arts can also be a journey. It is a rocky road, because without good understanding, it is easy to falter on this path

Breathing and MeditationBreathing The first exercise for proper (Ki, Chi, whatever) is to know how to breathe correctly. When you inhale, inhale with your mouth closed and put the top of your tongue to the roof of your mouth. When you exhale, exhale through your mouth and place your tongue on the bottom of your mouth. That is how you breathe correctly. The actual exercise is as follows. You can either sit or stand, which ever feels more comfortable to you as long as your back is straight. Good posture is important for a healthy energy flow. If you stand do so with you legs apart at shoulder length with your hands and arms relaxedBreathing and Meditation

IllusionsIllusions (part 1) Anti-Sparring Take a moment to clear your mind. Close your eyes and imagine yourself and an opponent standing in an open field. Picture yourself standing with left foot forward, right foot slightly back. Your hands are up (either open or closed fist) and your breathing just like you are in the real world, with slow and steady breathes. Imagine your opponent standing in the same stance as yourself, about four feet in front of you. Visualize your opponent throwing a right-jab at you, and capture in your mind the image of you blocking the attack. Now imagine he throws a left hook. BlocIllusions
